Catherine West

At a time of increased supervisory focus on consumer protection, Catherine brings both a practitioner's and a regulator's insight to her work with clients. Before joining Promontory, Catherine was Associate Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, overseeing the start-up of the infrastructure of an important new federal agency. Catherine was previously the Chief Operating Officer of J.C. Penney. The bulk of Catherine's career was in banking. As a senior executive at Capital One Corp., she served in roles that included President of the bank, President of the U.S. card business, and Executive Vice President of Enterprise Operations. Previously, she worked at First USA Bank as Executive Vice President of Marketing Services and Operations, and Senior Vice President of U.S. Consumer Operations. Catherine has also worked at Chevy Chase Federal Savings Bank as Vice President of the Credit Card Division.
