Peter Anthony Defazio

US Representative for Oregon's 4th district for more than 30 years! First elected in 1986 with a margin of 8%, he was rarely reelected with less than a 15% margin. Weaver of Oregon, 1977-1982; Lane County, Oreg., commissioner, 1983-1986, and chairman, 1985-1986; unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the United States Senate in a special primary election in 1995; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundredth and all Congresses thereafter (January 3, 1987-present).
