Tracy Krohn

Offshore oil patch worker earned petroleum engineering degree from LSU 1978. Took job with Mobil Oil. In 1983 used $12,000 life savings to create W&T Offshore. Public 2005. One year later purchased Kerr-McGee's Gulf assets for $1.3 billion; doubled company's size. Considering coastal and overseas expansion. Rescued Hurricane Katrina victims and their families with chartered 757 jet. Owns Grand American Road Racing Association team, Krohn Racing.
