Karl Kaufmann

KARL F. KAUFMANN's practice focuses primarily on regulatory and legislative issues affecting financial institutions, with an emphasis on retail banking. He spends much of his time concentrating on issues pertaining to privacy, payment systems, consumer loan products and consumer bankruptcy. Mr. Kaufmann received his J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2001. He received his B.A. from Yale University in 1994. Prior to joining Sidley, Mr. Kaufmann was Legislative Director to Congressman Bill McCollum (R-FL), then the Vice Chairman of the House Banking Committee (now called the Financial Services Committee).
