E Dee Martin

E. Dee Martin represents and counsels clients on issues of health care, energy and the environment, counter-terrorism and security law. Ms. Martin helps corporate clients react to changed circumstances through monitoring, advocacy, and negotiations with the U.S. Congress and most federal departments, legislative committees and administrative agencies. She testifies on her clients’ behalf, prepares clients for testimony before Congress and government agencies, and represents members of Congress before the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, commonly known as the Ethics Committee. Addressing her clients’ diverse needs with a unique, integrated approach, Ms. Martin develops a political plan, coordinates litigation, and addresses regulatory questions for her clients. This integrated approach enables clients to streamline their counsel teams and avoid both inconsistencies and redundancies in document and message development and delivery. Before law school, Ms. Martin worked for four years as the national programs associate for the Feminist Majority Foundation. It was her job to educate members of Congress on women's equality issues, including pay equity, reproductive freedom, affirmative action, and gender apartheid in Afghanistan. Ms. Martin is the youngest recipient to be awarded the Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Award, which she received in 1997. Fellow recipients have included Hillary Rodham Clinton and Gloria Steinem.
