Gregory Q Brown

Greg Brown, 48, is president and co-chief executive officer of Motorola, Inc. and chief executive officer of Motorola’s Broadband Mobility Solutions business which consists of the Home & Networks Mobility and Enterprise Mobility Solutions businesses. Mr. Brown joined Motorola in 2003 and was elected to the Company’s Board of Directors in 2007. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Brown served as President and Chief Operating Officer. Among his many accomplishments at Motorola, Mr. Brown led the $3.9 billion acquisition of Symbol Technologies, the second largest transaction in Motorola’s history and an important strategic move to strengthen Motorola’s enterprise offering. Additionally, Mr. Brown returned the automotive business to profitability and subsequently led the divestiture of that business, selling it to Continental for $1.0 billion. He has headed four different businesses at Motorola including the government and public safety business, where earnings substantially increased under his leadership. Mr. Brown has more than 25 years of high-tech experience. Prior to joining Motorola, he was chairman and CEO of Micromuse Inc., a network management software company. Before that, he was President of Ameritech Custom Business Services and Ameritech New Media Inc. Before joining Ameritech in 1987, Mr. Brown held a variety of sales and marketing positions with AT&T. An active member of the civic and business communities, Mr. Brown was appointed by the White House to serve on President Bush’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) in May 2004. He serves on the board of directors of several professional, educational and non-profit organizations. Local organizations include the Commercial Club of Chicago, World Business Chicago and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He is a member of the Technology CEO Council, the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum and the U.S.-China Business Council. Mr. Brown is also a member of the 2016 Chicago Olympic Committee. Mr. Brown received his bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers University and is a member of the Rutgers board of overseers.
