Samuel Nappi, also known as Sam, founded Tulsa based Alliance Energy Group, LLC in 1994 and serves as its Chairman and sole owner. Nappi’s company searches for oil and gas in Alaska and has been active in exploration on the state’s Kenai peninsula. Nappi also serves as president of Northstar Energy Group, Inc, The Nappis have made at least three sizable public donations in Central New York the past few years. In 2009, they gave an undisclosed amount to SU’s athletic department to rename the football field for Ernie Davis; in 2010, they donated $250,000 to the SU College of Law’s Cold Case Initiative; and in December they gave St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, in Syracuse, an undisclosed amount toward its $30 million expansion. Nappi attended SU in 1976 but did not graduate, he said. The couple splits their time among homes in Jamesville, New York City and Los Angeles, Nappi said.
