Keith Sabel

Keith Sabel of Sabel Steel — which has operated in Montgomery for over 160 years — was president and CEO of the company for 35 years before he passed on at age 75 after a long battle with illness. In July 2024, Sabel’s son, Sean Sabel, took over from his father and was appointed as president and CEO of the company. Sean is the sixth generation of the Sabel family to run the company, which is one of the few companies in the area with a storied history that is still owned by the original family. Sabel Steel, founded in 1856, manufactures a range of steel products and has expanded across the Southeast to run service centers in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia.
