Retired chief executive of publicly traded pipeline company Energy Transfer Partners. Teamed with Kelcy Warren to form gas pipeline company Cornerstone 1993. Bought small pipelines, consolidated holding into efficient network. Flipped to El Paso in 1999, duo then formed Energy Transfer. Stepped down as co-chief executive in 2007, sold $600 million worth of stock. Still owns nearly 19 million shares.
