Campbell Soup heiress, whose son Archibold led Campbell's sales force until October 2009. He is now a director of the firm. Her chemical engineer grandfather John T. Dorrance developed method of canning condensed soup in 1897 that used half as much water, cutting costs by a third. Today Campbell's, which has sales of $7.6 billion, is the world's leading soup maker; also owns other familiar brands: Pace (salsa), V8 (vegetable juice), Pepperidge Farm (cookies, Goldfish), Swanson (broth).
