Mr. Simons has been a director of XTO since 2000. In April 2007, he retired as an attorney specializing in federal income tax law. He was of counsel with the law firm of Winstead PC in Houston, Texas from 1999 until his retirement. Prior to that, he was a partner in the law firm of Butler & Binion, L.L.P. from 1972 through 1999. Mr. Simons served as a member of the Rice University Accounting Council from 1981 until 1996 and is a certified public accountant.
