Hedy F Govenar

Hedy F. Govenar is a Founder and serves as Chairwoman of the Board and President of Governmental Advocates, Inc., a lobbying and political consulting firm in Sacramento, California. An active lobbyist with Governmental Advocates since 1979, Ms. Govenar represents a variety of corporate and trade association clients. From 1989 to 1999, Ms. Govenar served as a Commissioner on the California Film Commission as an appointee of the California State Assembly. She has been a Director of University of Phoenix Online since March 1997. Ms. Govenar served as Director of Apollo Group Inc. from March 1997 to May 22, 2007. She is a member of the California Education Master Plan Alliance Advisory Committee whose mission is to reform California's entire system of education from pre-kindergarten through university. Ms. Govenar received an M.A. in Education from California State University and a B.A. in English from University of California at Los Angeles.
