Mr. Ross is a partner at KP Public Affairs. He joined the firm in 1996. He is a registered lobbyist and lawyer. He has specific expertise in financial services law and regulation, and has played a leading role in managing the financial services industry's response to a number of critical issues, including legislative efforts to regulate financial privacy, credit card marketing and outsourcing. Mr. Ross has also lobbied on a host of issues important to small businesses, including state wage and hour laws and regulations, workers compensation reform, and efforts to curb frivolous lawsuits. Mr. Ross leads the firm's lobbying effort for financial services clients, including Citigroup, General Electric, the California Mortgage Bankers Association, and Genworth Financial. He also is the firm's principal advisor to the California Restaurant Association, and lead lobbyist for the Hertz Corporation and Google. Prior to joining KP, Mr. Ross was a partner at the San Francisco law firm, Landels, Ripley and Diamond. There, he specialized in corporate, real estate and financial services law. In 1996, Mr. Ross, Eric Newman and Fred Pownall merged their legislative practice with Kahl Associates, forming KP.
