John Thaler

After a stint at Tiger Cub Chris Shumway's Shumway Capital, Thaler launched JAT Capital Management in 2007. Since then, the global long/short equity fund has grown to $2.6 billion in assets under management, including a large jump when JAT re-opened to new investors in 2011. Last year the fund—which focuses on technology, media and telecom companies, as well as consumer equities—returned 17.2% on the back of big early year gains from stocks like Sina Corp.
