Better Government Association

The Better Government Association is a full-service watchdog organization. We’re shining a light on government in Illinois and holding public officials accountable. The BGA’s mission is to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in government by exposing waste, fraud and corruption, advocating effective public policy and informing and engaging the community. The BGA works within Five Pillars of Action -- to investigate, litigate, educate, advocate and communicate -- in an effort to bring better government to Illinois. We go beyond exposing problems to proposing solutions and advocating good government reforms. Since 2009, the BGA has experienced a tremendous revitalization. The staff has grown from two to more than 20 full- and part-time employees, and the budget has expanded from $300,000 to almost $3 million. We're grateful to our supporters who made this growth possible. We've laid a strong foundation for reform in Illinois. This watchdog work is making a difference.
