About the Pay for Success Initiative The Urban Institute’s Pay for Success Initiative (PFSI) serves as a knowledge intermediary for pay for success (PFS) projects at all stages of development and implementation. Funded by the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, Urban’s team of experts works directly with government stakeholders, practitioners, and thought leaders to ensure that emerging PFS projects are grounded in the best available evidence and developed according to current best practice. Our work includes: Connecting communities exploring PFS with our experts through our Ask an Expert service and training & technical assistance support; Sharing best practices and innovative ideas to improve outcomes in communities around the country; Engaging the field in communities of practice, national convenings, and other opportunities to consider the future of PFS and other evidence-based financing models; and Developing tools to guide the work of leaders exploring PFS projects.
