Leprino Foods, based in Denver, is the world's largest producer of mozzarella cheese, with nine plants in California, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Michigan and Colorado. The firm also operates a plant in Northern Ireland and a plant in Wales, which are both part of a joint venture. The company also manufactures whey protein concentrate for protein bars, smoothies and other uses.
