MediaNews Group publishes 57 daily and about 95 non-daily newspapers in 12 states, with combined daily and Sunday circulation of approximately 2.6 million and 2.9 million, respectively. In August 2006, it acquired four newspapers from McClatchy Co., including the San Jose Mercury News. The company also operates a CBS-affiliate television station in Anchorage, Alaska, and operates radio stations in Texas.
