Cabinet Office Skills and Leadership Review

Details In 2012 The Minister for Civil Society appointed Dame Mary Marsh to lead a review into leadership and skills in the voluntary sector and examine how well existing support is meeting the needs of the sector. Dame Mary’s brought her significant experience of working with the voluntary sector to the review. She was the founder and director of the Clore Social Leadership Programme for 6 years, and spent 8 years as Chief Executive of the NSPCC. The review brought together relevant people in the sector and from business, and started a conversation about the future of the voluntary and community sector. It aimed to identify the challenges and opportunities that exist for charities in securing the skills they need to thrive in a tough financial climate. This report provides the conclusions and recommendations from the review. It has been used to inform government policy on supporting the voluntary sector.
