Mobile Hope began informally in 1996, when Jill Dejewski, then a middle school youth pastor at Wayzata Free Church, was asked to start a Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Maple Hill Estates in Corcoran, MN. Interest in VBS then led to year-round faith formation for children and a bible study for the women. Homework Help for school-aged children was added in 2009. Demand for programming continued to grow. To meet this demand, community dinners and informal resident surveys helped guide direction/activities. In 2010, a formal leadership team, mission, and strategies were established that enabled us to be intentional about our approach and future work. Out of those leadership meetings, Mobile Hope became a 501c3 in 2013, Co-founded by Jill and Brian Dejewski. Jill Dejewski, Mobile Hope’s Co-founder and Director of Programs, has been involved in the ministry since its inception in 1996. Jill and her husband Brian, Mobile Hope’s Executive Director, moved into the park with their family in June of 2013, to live full-time alongside and in community with the individuals and families being served by the program.
