Boston Basketball Partners purchased the Boston Celtics on Dec. 31, 2002, Mr. Lacob joins managing partners H. Irving Grousbeck, Wyc Grousbeck, and Stephen Pagliuca, who together form the first local ownership of the Celtics since Walter Brown's death in 1964.
