Our mission is to use research to make sure that the next generation of broadleaved trees will deliver all the environmental, social and economic benefits that they possibly can. Improved trees will produce high quality timber more quickly, are likely to remain healthy for longer, be adapted to a changing climate and sequester more carbon. We aim to improve tree quality and hence increase recoverable volumes of timber by around 20% over current levels of production.
