School Board of Sarasota County

Comprised of five members elected county-wide, each School Board member serves four-year terms on an alternating basis and works to advance legislative priorities that best meet the needs of the 53,000 students in the school district. School Board members are also responsible for appointing a school superintendent who directs the day-to-day academic and operational strategies of the school district. School Board meetings take place twice a month – check out the upcoming calendar for agenda items and opportunities to address the Board during public meetings. Members of the community are welcome the reach out to School Board members directly to notify them of ideas and feedback pertaining to education in Sarasota County.
