Field Team 6 is a pro-Democratic Party get-out-the-vote group that seeks to register Democratic voters in 10 states to maintain Democratic control of the U.S. Congress. In the 2022 elections, the group is targeting California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The group is led by former television writer Jason Berlin and was co-founded by Democratic California state Senate aide Michael Tonetti. 1 As of March 2020, Field Team 6 had 119 volunteers. 2 As of April 2022, the group claims to have registered 1.7 million Democratic voters. Field Team 6 was co-founded by Jason Berlin and Michael Tonetti in 2019. Berlin was a “reality tv and comedy writer” for 18 years, but quit his job to volunteer for Democratic get-out-the-vote efforts after the election of President Donald Trump. Berlin’s co-founder, Michael Tonetti was appointed communications director to California State Senator Maria Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) in 2020. Field Team 6 started with no seed money. 2 The group’s largest donor is Bill Prady, a television writer and producer who co-created “The Big Bang Theory.” Secretary of State Project co-founder Megan Hull is also a major donor.
