MindPath Health

MindPath Health is a behavioral health company that provides outpatient care services all throughout the United States. In 2021, two behavioral outpatient health clinics merged to create MindPath Health: Community Psychiatry and Mindpath Care Centers. Located in California, Community Psychiatry was acquired by two private equity investment firms - Leonard Green and Partners and Centerbridge. Community Psychiatry was previously owned by another private equity firm New Harbor Capital. Shortly after, in 2021, Community Psychiatry then acquired Mindpath Care Centers, hence the change in name. Ever since Leonard Green and Centerbridge acquired both companies, the entire executive team was replaced, countless of staff members were laid off, and some offices closed. MindPath Health stated these changes were needed as they were reconstructing departments since two companies merged to become one. As stated in the article, there has been several accusations and allegations against Leonard Green and Centerbridge. These two firms own plenty of other healthcare companies, such as Mentor Network and Aspen Dental. Accusations include of widespread abuse, deteriorating conditions, neglect, and even deaths. Albeit these accusations, both private equity firms continued to collect billion of dollars in debt-funded dividends. Since the change in ownership, MindPath Health has made changes to their procedures as collecting patient’s payments has become a priority.
