Robert C Melendres

Robert C. Melendres is corporate vice president of Corporate Development, general counsel and corporate secretary for Spansion. Prior to joining Spansion, Melendres served in various senior management positions, including corporate vice president, Corporate Development and Strategic Relations for AMD, president and general counsel of WebGain, Inc., director of Worldwide Contracts and Business Practices for IBM, and IBM legal counsel. Melendres has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate law including structuring and negotiating strategic alliances; mergers and acquisitions; and technology transactions with global industry leaders in the telecommunications, electronics, computers, storage systems, and microelectronics markets. His diverse business, management, and legal expertise includes founding and running a medical devices company; managing sales and marketing organizations; as well as advising on a broad range of legal matters worldwide. Experience includes mergers and acquisitions; antitrust; securities; litigation; tax; corporate; employment; patent prosecution; intellectual property licensing; and e-commerce. Melendres holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and a juris doctorate from Harvard Law School.
