Charles B Jackson Sr

ev. Charles Jackson Sr. is the Senior Pastor at Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia where he has served for 41 years. Brookland Baptist Church is one of the fastest growing congregations in the state and has 65 ministries, including the Brookland Center for Community and Economic Change, the Brookland-West Columbia Community and Housing Development Corporation, and the Brookland Community Pediatric Center. Active in the community, Charles is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Morris College and Chairman of the Distressed Areas Task Force for New Carolina. He also serves on the boards of the Capital City Club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Morehouse School of Religion and Lexington Medical Center, and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Golden Square Lodge #283 and the Cayce-West Columbia Rotary Club. Among other honors, Charles is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the 100 Black Men of Greater Columbia Inc., and the March of Dimes African American Achievement Award. Charles received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Benedict College and his Master of Divinity from the Morehouse School of Religion of the Interdenominational Theological Center.
