Gary is head of New York Private Wealth Management (PWM) for Goldman Sachs. Previously, he served as head of Global Private Wealth Management Development based in New York from 2004 to 2007. Before moving to New York, Gary worked in Hong Kong from 2002 to 2004 as co-head of the Investment Management Division for Asia and head of Private Wealth Management for Asia. He serves on the PWM Operating Committee and is on the Goldman Sachs University/Pine Street Advisory Board. Gary joined the firm in 1994 as an investment professional in Houston. There he built a seven-person PCS team that managed over $4 billion of assets for approximately 150 investors. In 1998, he was named regional manager and head of PWM for the Houston office. In 2000, as head of the Seattle office, Gary founded and built the Private Wealth business. He was named managing director in 2000 and partner in 2004. Prior to joining the firm, Gary served as an officer in the US Army. Gary is a member of the Board of Directors of Episcopal Charities, the Association of Graduates at West Point and the Army Athletic Association. Gary earned an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BS in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated, with honors, and was captain of the lacrosse team.
