Eric Brewer

Dr. Brewer received his Ph.D. in parallel computing from MIT in 1994. He is currently an Professor of Computer Science at the University of California at Berkeley, where he studies Internet infrastructure, Internet security, and mobile computing - and also Vice President for Infrastructure at Google. In 1996, he co-founded Inktomi Corporation, where he was Chief Scientist. Inktomi developed scalable applications for the Internet including search engines, network caches and shopping services. The company was sold to Yahoo! in 2003.
