Robert L Clarke

Robert L. Clarke is a Senior Partner in the Houston office of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, where he founded the firm's national and international financial services practice. He has extensive experience in the ownership and operation of banks, banking laws and regulations and bank supervision, both in the United States and internationally. Clarke was appointed U.S. Comptroller of the Currency in 1985 by President Ronald Reagan, and at the end of his first term was reappointed by President George Bush. He rejoined Bracewell in 1992 as head of its financial services practice. Clarke has served as a consultant to the World Bank and as senior advisor to the president of the National Bank of Poland. He received his B.A. in Economics from Rice University and his LL.B. from Harvard Law School.
