Nirmal Mathrani, a Booz Allen Hamilton Vice President, has more than 38 years of experience in financial services and IT. He has served both the federal government and commercial sectors and currently leads Booz Allen’s IT work at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He is recognized for providing IT strategy and systems engineering services across the civil market. Mr. Mathrani and his team focus on assignments in the following areas: Full life cycle IT systems delivery IT strategy Enterprise Architecture Knowledge Management solutions Fraud detection solutions Case management solutions Electronic payment solutions Mr. Mathrani’s extensive experience also includes leading projects for other U.S. federal government organizations, including the Department of the Treasury, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and financial regulatory entities; and commercial businesses, such as pharmaceutical and financial services companies. During his career at Booz Allen, Mr. Mathrani twice received the firm’s Professional Excellence Award (PEA), the highest recognition bestowed by the firm on its professional staff. One award was for his role on the Booz Allen team responsible for the IRS modernization effort in 2001, and the other was for helping the firm achieve CMMI-3 compliance. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Prior to Booz Allen, Mr. Mathrani worked at Burroughs Corporation and developed financial systems software for commercial banks and savings and loans. Mr. Mathrani has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and an M.A. degree in Computer Science from Wayne State University, Detroit.
