Chris Laconte

Our SVP of Corporate Development has held a myriad of roles in his tenure at Higher One. Chris started working with Higher One in 2003 as a student who helped implement the Higher One program at UW-Stout (Higher One’s second school). Soon after assisting with launching UW-Stout he was hired as an intern and moved up within the organization to his current role as SVP of Corporate Development. In this role, Chris is always looking for new strategic partners to grow Higher One. Chris has been instrumental in executing M&A deals for Higher One—including the acquisitions of EduCard, LLC and Informed Decisions Corporation (dba CASHNet). Chris has also worked extensively on strategic initiatives including negotiating State and Federal subsidies and a long term lease for Higher One’s Headquarters, signing up additional strategic bank partners, and managing the Higher One Holdings’ IPO. Chris graduated from Southern Connecticut State University after transferring from University of Wisconsin-Stout. Chris enjoys travel with his favorite trips being to Italy with his family and running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain!
