Bruce Herring is a group chief investment officer of Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMRCo.), the investment advisor for Fidelity's family of mutual funds. Mr. Herring oversees the Growth, Value, Small Cap and Mid- Cap portfolio management teams. Mr. Herring joined Fidelity in 1987 as a research analyst following the banking, insurance, conglomerate and supermarket industries. He managed Fidelity Select Financial Services Portfolio and Fidelity Select Insurance Portfolio from 1990 to 1993. He served first as portfolio assistant and then co-manager of Fidelity Global Balanced Fund from 1993 to 1995. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Herring served as associate director and then director of research in Fidelity's Tokyo office. In this role, he had overall responsibility for all research, including the management of research analysts and associates in Fidelity's Tokyo office. Mr. Herring was director of U.S. equity research from 1997 to 2000. From January 2001 to July 2005, Mr. Herring was a portfolio manager for U.S. equity funds and accounts available exclusively to non-US investors. He began his current responsibilities in August 2005. Born in 1965, Mr. Herring received a bachelor of science degree in finance and investment from Babson College in 1987. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
