Began her career in the performing arts as assistant to the Artistic Director and a modern dance teacher at the North Carolina Dance Theater. Since that time, and for over fifteen years, she has continued to support the performing arts, serving as the Director of Development for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and the Executive Director of the Augusta Ballet, and serving on the Boards of both institutions. She currently serves as trustee of the Segerstrom Center. for the Performing Arts in Orange County, Council Member to Oceana in New York, Artistic Advisory Committee Member for the Westobou Festival in Augusta, and Friend of the Costume Institute for the Metropolitan Museum of New York. Stracke has also been a member of Renaissance Weekend and is the current Vice Chair for the American Ballet Theater Spring Gala. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Christian Stracke, MD for PIMCO, and their three children. She writes a blog, Suttons-Law, and is a contributor to the Huffington Post.
