Virginia M Lindseth

Virginia M. Lindseth, Ph.D, of Hunting Valley, was appointed to the Ohio Board of Regents in 2011. Lindseth is an educational psychologist with a professional career that spans every level of teaching from pre-school to graduate school. She has been a classroom teacher, counselor, school administrator, educational consultant, and university professor. Dr. Lindseth received her doctorate from Case Western Reserve University where she also earned an executive Master’s of Business Administration. She has a Master’s of Arts degree from John Carroll University in Guidance and Counseling and an undergraduate degree in History from Cornell University. Lindseth founded The Institute for Educational Renewal (IER) at John Carroll University. IER consultants worked in inner city and suburban elementary schools with teachers designing curriculum and reviewing and enhancing teaching practices in literacy. Throughout her professional career, Lindseth has been active in both the educational and the cultural communities in Cleveland. She is a life member of The University School board of trustees and an active member of The Musical Arts Association board of trustees, which operates The Cleveland Orchestra. She is on the President’s Visiting Committee of Case Western Reserve University and serves her alma mater, Cornell, as an emeritus member of the advisory committee of the College of Arts and Sciences. In past years, she served on a number of community boards including Ursuline College, The Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Community Building Initiative and the Neighborhood Centers Association. Lindseth has been married to Jon A. Lindseth for 56 years. They have four children and twelve grandchildren. She was born and raised in Ithaca, N.Y. and has lived in Cleveland for 45 years. Regent Lindseth currently serves on the Centers of Excellence and Central State Task Forces
