Vivien R. Krieger joined Cozen O'Connor as an associate in the firms' Business Law Department. Vivien concentrates her practice on real estate law, representing developers, lenders, owners, purchasers and nonprofits in New York City land use matters. Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, Vivien was associated with another law firm in New York City. Vivien regularly prepares applications and appears before the Board of Standards & Appeals, the Department of City Planning, the Department of Buildings, and the MTA. She also presents projects to community boards and elected officials and works closely with architects, engineers, financial experts and environmental experts. Vivien has drafted various zoning lot development agreements, easement agreements, restrictive declarations, zoning opinions and letters, analyses of site development potential, zoning resolution determination requests and zoning challenges. She has also prepared expert witness reports for litigation involving zoning matters. Vivien began her career in the public sector as counsel to the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs. At DCA, she was responsible for overseeing the legal review, approval and enforcement process for all of NYC's 1,100+ sidewalk cafes. She also advised the agency on all land use and zoning matters that touched on DCA's jurisdiction, including sidewalk cafes, parking garages, bicycle parking, and cabarets. She worked closely with other city and state agencies on various projects to resolve multi-agency issues and to implement new laws and policies. Vivien is an active member of the Land Use Planning and Zoning Committee of the NYC Bar Association, the Regional Planning Association, the Governors Island Alliance Young Members Group and a founding member of the Gotham Planning Society. Vivien earned her law degree from New York Law School. While living abroad, Vivien earned her bachelor's degree from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.
