Merritt Belisle is Of Counsel at Reed & Scardino LLP. Prior, Merritt was chairman and executive advisor of Barco, Inc.. Previously, Merritt was chief executive officer of VCI Solutions/Digital Transaction Group, Inc. and The Black Creek Group, LP, both in Austin. In 1992, Merritt founded Classic Communications and served as its chief executive officer until December 2000, building Classic into the 13th largest cable television operator in the United States. Prior to Classic, he served as chief executive officer of Community Cable Incorporated (“CCI”), a multi-system cable television operator based in Austin, Texas. CCI was sold to Time Warner Cable. Merritt serves on the Board of Directors of Concordia University. He served on the board and acted as treasurer of West Austin Youth Association between 2003 and 2008. Merritt is a founding member of the Austin chapter of the Young Presidents Organization and the chapter’s first Chairman. He is also an active volunteer at Western Hills Little League and Trinity Episcopal School. Merritt received his Juris Doctor in 1981 from The University of Texas Law School. He also received a Masters in Professional Accounting and a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He is licensed to practice law in Texas.
