Madeline is the founding Executive Director of TexProtects, the Texas Association for the Protection of Children. TexProtects is a Dallas-based statewide child advocacy membership organization. Prior to her work as an advocate, McClure spent nine years on Wall Street. McClure was Vice President of SG Warburg in finance and investments in New York, NY when she decided to switch careers to work with abused and neglected children. She spent over five years as a clinical therapist for the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center providing therapy services to child abuse victims after earning her MSSW. Since 2000, Madeline has advocated for investment in proven and cost-effective child abuse prevention programs, CPS improvements and services that help abuse victims heal to Congress, the Texas State Legislature and Dallas County Commissioners. Under the leadership of McClure, TexProtects has assisted and/or led the passage of over 35 bills, contributed to two additional omnibus reform bills, and has secured over $70 million in public funding investments in the Nurse-Family Partnership program and other proven, cost-effective home visiting solutions Madeline served as an appointee to the Dallas County Child Welfare Board for six years, Chair as two years. Madeline has served on other local and statewide children and mental health-focused organizations. She is a member of the Dallas Assembly and Leadership Texas. McClure earned her Masters of Science in Social Work from U.T.A., starting her studies at NYU. She earned a BA in Economics at Rutgers College at Rutgers University. Madeline is married to Jim McClure and has two stepchildren and two grandchildren.
