Jerry Maher

As senior vice president for guarantor servicing and FFELP acquisitions at Navient, Jerry Maher is responsible for managing lender and guarantor customer relationships and pursuing portfolio acquisitions. Previously, Jerry was senior vice president at Sallie Mae, where he managed relationships with lenders, secondary markets, and guarantor agencies, providing services to enable student loan customers to successfully repay their loans. Jerry also worked with a variety of credit unions and other financial institutions. Jerry began his career with Sallie Mae in 1981, and brings more than 30 years of experience in encouraging customer success to his new role at Navient. Jerry has a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from Mt. St. Mary’s College.
