Alexei Kudrin

In 1983 graduated from the Economics Department of the Leningrad State University. In 1988 received the academic degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences. In 1983-1990 worked at the Institute of Social and Economic Problems of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1990 he began working as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Economic Reform of the Executive Committee of Leningrad. In 1993-1996 - Deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg, Chairman of the Committee for Economy and Finances. In August 1996 Alexey Kudrin was appointed Deputy Chief of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Head of the Control Department. In March 1997 he was appointed First Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation. In January-June 1999 worked as the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Unified Energy Systems" Company (RAO UES). In June 1999 reappointed First Deputy Finance Minister. Since May 2000- Deputy Prime-Minister and Finance Minister. Resigned from the Government in September 2011. Alexey Kudrin was named "Finance Minister of the Year 2004" by the Banker magazine and "Finance Minister of the Year 2010" by the Euromoney magazine. In 2005 was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland. At present Alexey Kudrin is the Dean of the Department of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St. Petersburg State University.
