Donald B Craven

Donald B. Craven's practice focuses on complex civil and appellate litigation and administrative matters, with an emphasis on energy, natural resources, antitrust and civil fraud. Mr. Craven represents clients in federal and state courts and before federal regulatory bodies and administrative agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of Interior. He is a frequent lecturer on matters of energy regulation and litigation. Mr. Craven currently co-heads the firm's energy litigation practice group. Before entering private practice, Mr. Craven served as acting assistant administrator at the Federal Energy Administration, where he was active in formulating and developing the Ford administration's national energy plan, which was enacted into law in 1975 as the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. Mr. Craven began his legal career as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Craven received his A.B. in 1963 from the University of North Carolina, where he was a Morehead Scholar, and his LL.B. in 1967 from the Duke University School of Law, where he served on the board of editors of the Duke Law Journal. He is a member of the District of Columbia, North Carolina and Virginia Bars.
