Jeff’s practice focuses on representing clients in litigation and government investigations, with a particular focus on defending companies in complex class action lawsuits. Jeff has advised clients in litigation involving the Copyright Act, the Video Privacy Protection Act (“VPPA”), the Michigan Video Rental Privacy Act (“VRPA”), and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (“ECPA”). He also assists clients in responding to formal investigations and informal inquiries conducted by the FTC, DOJ and states’ Attorney General Offices. Jeff has extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including serving as trial counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants in matters pending before judges, juries, and arbitration panels. rior to joining ZwillGen, Jeff was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He served as counsel for Facebook and its officers and directors in dozens of shareholder class actions and derivative lawsuits brought in multiple federal and state courts (including proceedings before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation) challenging the conduct of Facebook's IPO. He also served as counsel for cable company Charter Communications in numerous matters, including a 19-day bench trial regarding claims by Charter's lenders that Charter breached its $11 billion secured financing agreement and a putative nationwide class action alleging Charter violated antitrust laws through its leasing of set-top boxes to customers.
