Erica M Long

Erica Morris Long is an associate with King & Spalding’s Government Advocacy and Public Policy Practice Group. Her practice focuses on the counseling of firm clients regarding legislative advocacy, congressional investigations and political action committee issues. She represents public and private entities on a variety of legislative and regulatory issues, ranging from pharmaceutical and healthcare to aviation and trade. Ms. Long’s experience in Washington includes working as a Legislative Assistant and Scheduler to Congressman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI). In that capacity, Erica was responsible for legislative issues including education, housing, banking, reparations, Haiti, and science and technology, in addition to coordinating the Congressman’s Washington and national schedules. Additionally, Ms. Long was a Legislative Assistant with the White House Office of Legislative Affairs during the Clinton-Gore Administration. At the White House, Erica drafted briefing papers and weekly legislative reports to the President, wrote daily reports of House floor action for senior White House staff, tracked legislation of interest to the administration and responded to congressional inquiries on Administration positions on legislation. Erica is admitted to practice in the State of Georgia. A 1998 summa cum laude graduate of Florida A&M University, Ms. Long received her law degree from Harvard University in 2004.
