Steve Lockshin founded Convergent Wealth Advisors (formerly CMS Financial Services) in 1994 to deliver a differentiated offering to ultra-affluent individuals and families. Steve served as CEO of the firm for 18 years and under his leadership Convergent became one of the nation’s leading wealth management firms. An entrepreneurial spirit, Steve exercises his creative passion by forming or engaging with start-up wealth management companies that have included Lydian, Advizent and AdvicePeriod. As Chairman, Steve is a member of Convergent’s leadership team and sits on the Board of Directors. Steve previously served as a partner at Meltzer & Associates, a nationally recognized firm providing services in insurance, estate planning, and executive compensation. Prior to joining Meltzer, he worked with Legg Mason Wood Walker in various business units, including an extended period in the municipal bond department. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. He holds the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation administered by the Investment Management Consultants AssociationSM. He also holds the Investment Strategist Certificate (ISC), as well as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 65 license. Steve is a long-time member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). He is also an accomplished pilot, graduating from his private pilot certificate to piloting corporate jets in less than three years.
