James B. "Buck" McCabe is executive vice president, finance and chief financial officer for Chick-fil-A, Inc., responsible for accounting, finance, treasury, taxation, employee benefits, risk management, information technology, corporate administration, legal, and Cathy family financial planning. Mr. McCabe began his career with the company in 1978 as corporate accounting manager. Soon after, he was promoted to assistant controller, controller, vice president and then to vice president and chief financial officer in 1982. He has been a member of the executive officer committee since 1980. He was honored in 2008 by Atlanta Business Chronicle by being named CFO of the Year. Prior to joining Chick-fil-A, Mr. McCabe spent four years as an auditor with international accounting firm, Peat Marwick, which is now KPMG. Mr. McCabe holds a master’s degree in business administration and an undergraduate degree in accounting from The College of William & Mary. In 1991, Mr. McCabe graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He is a Certified Public Accountant and served his country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Mr. McCabe is married to the former Susan Metzger and has three children, Karen, Jim and Nancy, and three grandsons.
