Hall Healy is past president of The DMZ Forum, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving globally unique biological and cultural resources, species and habitats of Korea’s Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). His work with the Forum included creating a worldwide DMZ Coalition of experts to support DMZ preservation efforts. He is a professional environmental facilitator and consultant, conducting training, facilitation and planning projects in the US, Russia, China and Korea. He has helped establish conservation partnerships in the US, Russia and Mexico. For over thirty-five years he worked in the environmental engineering, steel and packaging businesses, in management, marketing, strategic planning, sales and business development. Hall has a B.A. degree in Political Science from Colgate University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Executive Program. He has written two publications: “Environmental Management” for American Management Association’s (AMA) Manufacturers Handbook and Packaging and Solid Waste, co-authored; and he has written and had published numerous papers on conservation of natural resources in the Korean DMZ and on planning issues. He is an Emeritus member of the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, the world’s largest non-profit conservation organization and is on the Governing Board of the Brookfield Zoo, Chicago, Illinois. He also is a member of the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Task Force of Transboundary Protected Areas Committee and the IUCN Specialist Group on Storks, Ibises and Spoonbills.
