As UC Davis chancellor, Gary S. May heads up four colleges and six professional schools. Prior to becoming chancellor, he spent almost 30 years at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, most recently as dean of the College of Engineering. He has authored more than 200 technical publications and contributed to 15 books. In 2010, he was named UC Berkeley’s outstanding engineering alumnus. And in 2015, he received the Presidential Award for Excellence in STEM mentoring from President Barack Obama during a visit to the White House.
