Michael Zonsius is the Chief Financial Officer for the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA). He is responsible for the financial operations at both O'Hare and Midway International Airports. He has oversight of all operating and capital finance activities, operating and capital budgets, grant administration and Rates & Charges. Prior to joining CDA in 2007, Michael worked for the City of Kansas City Department of Aviation for four years as the Director of Finance overseeing financial operations at the Kansas City International Airport, Charles B Wheeler and the Richards-Gabaur Intermodal Transportation Facility. Before the City of Kansas City, Michael worked for the Greater Rockford Airport Authority and the Palwuakee Municipal Airport (now the Chicago Executive Airport) for nine and five years, respectively, in the capacity as Finance Director. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Technology from Purdue University and a Master's degree in Business Administration from DePaul University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Illinois, a Commercial Licensed Pilot and previously licensed Certified Flight Instructor. At the college level, Michael has taught Fiscal Aspects of Aviation Management, Principles of Accounting, Cost Accounting, Principles of Finance and Economics.
