Roger Weitz

Roger Weitz returned to his hometown in August, 2011 to assume the post of General Director of Opera Omaha. He holds a degree in music from Carleton College and spent a year in Washington, DC as an Arts Management Fellow in a highly selective program at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. After college, Roger moved to Chicago and began a decade-long tenure with Chicago Opera Theater. It was during this time he met and fell in love with his future wife, Kate Noble. Roger and Kate married in 2006 and started a family in 2011 with the birth of their son, Freddie. Roger is interested in fostering a rich, diverse, and high quality cultural landscape for Omaha.
