Daniel Ostrander is a Professor of History at Butte College. In 1990 he chaired a conference on the War Powers Resolution with President Ford and as a result wrote a book with Ford entitled The War Powers Resolution: A Constitutional Crisis? He is also the author of American History ? The Relevant Issues, Volumes I and II. He has met with Presidents Nixon, Carter, and Reagan and has had the opportunity to review and discuss material with them used in his books and lectures. Ostrander, a Santa Monica native, moved with his family to the Bay Area when he was 4. After a National Guard stint and two years at a community college, he transferred to Chico State, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history in 1967 and a year-and-a-half later acquired a master's degree in social science, as well as obtaining his teaching credential. Ostrander was a Shasta College instructor for two years. In 1970, moved over to Butte College to teach philosophy and American history.
